Gas/fuel Problem How To Fix It?

is it normal for the gas to show at 3/4 full and then a few minutes later 1/2 full and then go back up to 3/4 full? also does anyone else notice the gas idle bouncing up and down sometimes? Is this normal for a Z or is there something wrong?

it could be a ground problem with the sending unit
check for corrosion and a good grounding contact
