Fuel Injector Leak
Fuel Injector Leak
For the last week my cars check engine has been on. When ever I try to accelerate it does so very slowly like if its idling until it reaches 3000 rpm. I checked the codes and its an injector leak. Do I have to replace the injectors or just the seals, (o rings). Or what exactly do I do.
seals may do it (but i doubt it), but if they are original injectors, i have heard that the ethanol in the fuel is making all the injectors of the time start to give up, so i'd get new ones. if there is any way possible that you can afford them
Test the resistance to see if the injectors are still good (pull the plugs off and test resistance between the two pins - should be between 10 and 14 ohms).
If they are still good, you can just replace the o-rings. I'd also recommend searching TT.NET for the injector rewire (it's a way to prevent the older style injectors from dying prematurely).
