Different Oil Filter on JDM

So I had to swap my motor, again, for the second time this summer because the JDM motor I got that was "tested" had shitty compression and leaky cylinders.

Awesome right?

So I picked up the other JDM the other day and there are two strange things with it that I can't seem to find anywhere.

First, the oil filter is really small. Aside from someone changing the oil filter bracket, is there any other reason there would be a smaller filter on it? Like could this have been from the J30 or maybe the maxima? The last JDM had the same filter as the USDM

I dont know what the maxima motor looks like or if its even the same one, never looked into it but Ive heard its the same / similar.

The second is the oil pressure sending unit. Its about half the size of the one that was on the last JDM and the USDM motor. It also has a yellow tip and a connection for a harness. This could just be aftermarket but Im not sure why someone would change it.

Any thoughts / Ideas would be awesome.

The unit looks about the same size as this one. Only it has a yellow harness connector on top. Female end.

From some research on the ol' ebay. it looks like the sensor is stock, some had the connector others had the wire.

Still interested in any thoughts on the oil filter thing.

Having a smaller filter could just mean the last owner put a smaller filter on it... there are different size filters from different manufacturers (the Mobil1 filters for my DD are smaller than their Fram counterparts, for example).

And the J30 had the same engine, so that wouldn't be a concern.
