Cometic Phuzion

Anyone ever use Cometic Phuzion head gaskets in their VG30DE(TT)? How'd they work out? Are they worth it? Would you recommend them?

ZLover4Life 03-25-2009 02:42 PM

Worth what? Are you pushing ~1000hp? Because if you're not, I see no reason to get a gasket other than OEM.

Cometic gaskets are usually quality, but there is no deficiency in the OEM gasket that would make me recommend them over OEM unless you have a gratuitous amount of horsepower.

f`n a they're really rated that high?
I just wanted to increase compression a little but but I'm not aspiring for anything like that.

I don't know how high they're rated, I'm simply saying that the only people who need a gasket other than OEM are people who have obscene amounts of power... the OEM gaskets are fine. And simply increasing compression is a poor way to make power, IMO.

increasing compression is the best way to get power out of an NA, once you've exhaust all other options. but a cometic headgasket is very expensive and probably the best HG company out there.

ZLover4Life 03-25-2009 07:26 PM

The best way to make an NA engine accelerate faster is at 9.81m/sec^2. TT swap FTW. Bolt-ons before internals, always.

lol ^^^^ thank god for AP physics or i woulda never gotten that joke.... or did i learn that in normal physics? meh!

I thought it he meant to spell "Cosmetic Fusion," jokes on me..

You took AP classes SNW? I'm impressed....surprised, but impressed. I never woulda guessed...

yeah, and some honors courses, mostly math one english. im smarter than i let pass off. keeps me ummm... "mysterious" haha. not at all but keeps me more amusing.

I'm not planning to JUST increase compression, it's just the only factor where I was worried about the head gaskets; and like I said, only by a little. It's not like I can get decent gas around here.

The rate objects fall to Earth is Intro to Physics I think.

I think you're right. I recall that from my Physics class and I didn't bother even trying AP Physics. I had a crazy physics professor. I believe the way he taught us about this started off by him saying, "OK, say you have a cat head and you drop it off the empure state building." I actually looked forward to Physics class. I'd leave the class in tears because I was laughing so hard.

Good times.

wtf why does every thread have to get on the subject of physics?

I learned it in 9th grade science class......

When I took Physics I in college, all we studdied were problems about torque... in various forms.... for a whole semester...

Don't know, it's funny though. Maybe if you're smart enough to perform proper maintenance on a Z you should be smart enough to be a physicist. It's a compliment!

I've found having been a jet mechanic to have helped as well.
