blown engine--suggestions?

I have a 93 n/a 2+2. I was driving and a bad knocking started, before i could get into a safe place to stop ( i had my 4 year old w/ me). It seized up, made terrible noises and came to a heart breaking stop. It had water and oil pouring from the engine. I hit the key just to see if it is seized and it is. I had checked the oil that morning and it was fine, and it did not overheat at all. Should i try to get it rebuilt or should i try to find a low mileage engine? I will not be doing the work on it because i dont have the time. Does anyone know where to get good engines? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I really like the car and i would like to keep it. Thanks, Rodney

A good used engine will be the most affordable way to go. We have many of them available.

A rebuilt engine will be a zero mileage engine, therefore will probably last longer. The only problem is that if your engine seized there could be damage to your internals (crank, rods, block, pistons) and may not be rebuildable. Therefore you may have to pay a core charge or buy replacement parts. We also have these available.

In the socal area you can get rebuilt short blocks for $1200. Another $300 for rebuilt heads. You might look into a rebuilt longblock where it come already assembled with the timing belt and tensioners, etc. A used motor is always a crapshoot. Most places that sell rebuilt motors will also do the install for a fee.

Yeah, Rob seems cool........... I wonder if he'd make me a good deal on a u/d pulley set. I'm gonna be doing my timing belt soon and figured that would be a nice addition. Group buy anybody?

i just think it's slightly amusing considering that this site is run/owned by Kyle, owner of Strictly Z, which is a direct competitor to Z1.

I noticed the same thing about the Strictly Z site. It's been down for a while.

Well, i found a motor exchange shop that will install a complete engine w/ 42,000 miles on it guaranteed for a year or 12,000 miles for $2500 dollars plus tax. He said he has done tons of 300's so i think that's the way to go. Thanks for the advice.
