auto TT ???????
auto TT ???????
What is the best way to make the automatic TT perform better? I was thinking of torque converter or maybe just the 4.10 gear. Is it overkill if I put a 4.10 gear and a 2500-3500 stall converter? Which one would give me a better peformance if I have to pick only one
Opinions please!!!
Opinions please!!!
First thing I would pick up is the HKS ALC-II, that would be the simplest improvement.
Performance would also benefit from suspension upgrades like subframe spacers and ES bushings.
4.10 gearing and stall converter aren't neccessarily overkill. I'd say it depends what "better performance" means to you and how far you wish to take it.

First the final gear ratio of the N/A rearend is 4.08.
To get your car into the 11's is going to take a little more than a rearend change, hi-stall torque convertor and a HKS ALC II.
As been pointed out you'll need to do some suspension upgrades, tires and engine work. An 11 second car is going to cost and won't happen with 1 mod., but it's very doable and you have the right car to do it with.

I think the 4.10 gearing from Leader Gears would give you a nice improvement in acceleration. I have read some testimonies from people on tt.net that have installed them and they say that it feels like a whole different car. They are $710 from Specialty Z and would be better than swapping in a weaker N/A rear. http://www.leadergears.com/site/content.php?content.5
A torque converter would help as well.

I'm putting in a GT28R his summer including all the supporting mods aka: injectors, intercooler, boost controler and the rest of the mods that I have already purchase. I want to do something with the auto transmission while the engine is out. I have a little over 1k left for my project. If I can get both the 4.10, stall converter or HKS ALC-II. I would be happy.
