Auto tranny problem on a TT??
 

Hey,
This is the first auto car i have owned so i dont know if this is normall or not. My Z has a wierd problem - My car shifts fine from 1 to 2nd to 3rd but its when it tryin to go into 4th, It wont shift untill i hit 3k RPM'S or higher, then after that i will shift fine into 4rth. The other gears will shift around 2500 but not this one. The tranny was rebuilt 2 years ago

Could this be a problem??

do you have the overdrive engaged?
is there an ALC installed in the car?
aftermarket ECU?

No the car wasnt in overdrive, and i dont know about the ecu upgrades. I dont think so cause i havnt touched it. It looked stock when i looked at it

I think what Rizzspeed was asking is do you have a HKS ALC installed, and if the button on the left side of your shifter handle was engaged.
First...on your passenger side under the carpet is a wooden panel. Remove the wooden panel, 4-10mm bolts and look and see if you have a HKS ALC installed.
On your dash on the upper right side it well tell you if your in OD or not. Push the OD button in, light goes out, button out, light on.

the overdrive button should be engaged pretty much at all times.
What you're experiencing with the extended range of the rpm's is most likely because your overdrive button isn't engaged. that's like basically turning on and off your fourth gear. oversimplied explanation but that's the gist of it.
the hks alc is designed to firm the shifts of an auto tranny.
