air fuel ratio guage install?
 

does anybody know which line on the ecu harness i tap into for the sender line on the air fuel gauge? i know the air fuel line usually goes strait to the o2 sensors, but there are two o2 sensors for the Z's. i had been told that it was more efficient to tap it on to the ecu harness. i would imagine they would lead into one line going to the ecu. please correct me if i am wrong.

from what i can interpret..there are three wires on the O2 sensor that runs to the ECU. There is a brown wire (pin 115) the has both signals from both the left and right 02.

However, there is also another two wires comin in to the ecu:
PIN 29 - is a white wire that runs to the right side 02
PIN 55 - is another white wire running to the left side 02

I m not sure which wire is the signal wire you re lookin for. I am wanting to upgrade my gauges soon and i will be facing the same problem. I would call Z1 and ask one of the TECH guys.

Upon further lookin..i notice that the pins 55 and 29 have a ground circuit connected. i would assume that the wire your lookin for is PIN 115.

ANY HELP GUYS?? I want to help but like most thing i would wait and get a second opinion b4 cutting wires.
BTW I am goin by the 1992 service manual.

if it's not too late i'd recommend not getting an air/fuel guage...every one i've ever seen has been very unreliable and is always shooting up and down...gets kinda annoying...what i'm doing instead of getting one of those is, install an EGT guage (aka pyrometer), if the temp is unusually high, you're running lean...and if it's unusually low, you're running rich...much more reliable and consistent than most air/fuel guages in my opinion...

^^agreed. A/F isn't worth the trouble or money. It would be best to get two EGTs, one for each manifold. I would go with Defi. There is a writeup on TT.net on how to wire two EGTs to one Defi control unit.

The gauge will do nothing buy annoy the living $h!t out of you... Trust me there, haha.

isnt the bouncing gauge due to the narrow band signal..like 1 to 5 volts or something like that. I read something somewhere..but i wasnt sure what type the Z32s had.

Our o2's read from 0 - 1 volts. Wideband o'2 read from 1 - 5 volts. If you want a more accurate AFR guage, you'd need to set-up additional o2 bungs to run the widebands and then get a guage for it. The finer resolution of the wideband would give you more accurate readings. I thought wideband o2's were some rare expensive item. But they are standard in newer civics and other cars.

Z1 has a wideband o2 sensor and controller on their site. It's priced at $295.
