AC Leak

Hello everyone, does anyone know the purpose of this thing I have put an arrow to? It is pissing out my fresh coolant. wondering if the line needs replaced or the compressor is causing this.

Anyone seen this or any other ideas on this issue.

Think it is the pressure relief valve

Welcome to ZDriver!:006:

What does your manual call it? If you don't have one, download a freebie for your model/year at XenonZ32.com Reference (other good docs there too)

I replaced the relief valve on my '86 because it was opening at too low a pressure. I have heard of valves that fail in the open position too. Check your FSM and let us know.

Thanks and welcome.

A/C line question

This kinda looks like the A/C receiver/drier and I think that may be the high pressure relief valve for the Freon. It is meant to open and vent Freon if system power gets to high. Is that the drier?

Thanks for the replys. I am not new to forums and research everything prior to asking and the FSM is vague on a 1990.

It is the high pressure line that goes from compressor to condessor.
The little piece is the pressure relief valve, however my question now is that I know what it is...do these go bad often?

As soon as I fill the freon and have enough in it to operate the clutch it immediately pisses out all the freon.

I bought a new PRV today so I'll wait till it comes in and vaccum the system and try again.

Once again thanks for the help

Ok, I took the prv off and I could blow right through it. Replaced prv and vacuumed it out and filled it.

High pressure reading 350!

Assuming I need to drop the glove box and clean out the junk by the evap

Thanks again
