97K too many miles?

Hello everyone. I am new here. I recently came across a '94 TT 5-speed. The exterior is in fair shape, but some parts could use a respray, as the paint on the spoiler is faded and peeling off the gas cap. Also, the front bumper is hit. I was wondering if the 97,000 miles on this car should point me to another direction. I got to drive it and it runs great. What I have doubts about is the suspension. The car got a bit squirelly under hard acceleration, and the car shimmied side-to-side on braking/deceleration. Possible explanations for this were the tires not matching in the rear. As for the front, the owner says it is due to the brake rotors. Any opinions would be appreciated.
P.S. Oh, yes, what is a good offer for this car.

Re: 97K too many miles?

He's asking $12500. However, it has several cosmetic issues, along with numerous niggling problems. For one, the car has obviously never been inside a garage, so the paint is completely faded on the spoiler and actually peeling off of the gas cap. The front bumper has been hit and currently has a bra on it to mask the problem. The interior looks a bit worn, even for its age. The rear tires don't match and are 225/50s on the 16x8.5 inch rims. The driver's seat is torn (leather) and the door panels are stained, but this may be cleaned, i'm not sure. The car also seems to vibrate when braking. The owner says it is due to the rotors needing turning. Despite all this, two things turn me on to this car 1. I can't seem to find any other turbo 5-speeds and 2. it runs GREAT. What would be a fair offer?
