650HP n/a ?
hey well i already found out the mods i need to make a 1991 300zxTT a 650HP beast, but now just in case i couldnt find a TT within my $5000 price range and had to settle for a N/A... i wanna know what mods would i have to do to it to reach 650HP or so, at least 500HP tho?!? and could the N/A 5 spd. tranny support that much power, or what mods would i have to do to the tranny too?!? thanx for any help...

I think you can only realisticly get 350hp at the flywheel with a NA. Going beyond that would require supercharging, or heavy shots of laughing gas. To get 350 is going to require pretty much the same stuff as the TT, in that you would need an intake, pulleys, ECU, catback exhaust. With the NA though you would need to get headers and better internals.

It's pretty much like what Morningstar said, I don't you'll be hittin 650 hp on an N/A motor. In Okinawa at Auto Shop Turbo they had dyno days and the most I'd ever seen an N/A Z32 pull was 386 whp. It was an RSR sponsered one so I'm pretty sure that motor was built to the extreme.

Yeah, an NA is gonna end up needing forced induction of some sort to get really big power. If you want really big power, the TT is the cheaper and easier way to go. But if you ever get a 650hp NA, call me. I would pay to see it.

yep like yall said, a 650hp NA engine would be nearly impossible unless you got a racing sponsorship to build you a motor. The NA's weren't built for that kind of power. Yet you can still get great performance out of them for relatively low cost. With Pulley's, Intake, Exhaust, ECU, and headers im sure your over 300hp at the crank. So you bump it up 100ponies for 2 grand tops. No matter what, get somthing, and have fun with it. You don't have to build a monster in order to have fun. With a stock TT you can hang with pretty much anything on the street. From there, its just a matter of how far you wanna go. I can't imagine that It would be fun to have a stage XV machine with 650+ hp as a daily driver. Just get somthing, work at it, and have fun.

$2K for all that? It'll cost you a bit more than that and you will not have 300 fwhp with those mods. If you want 300 fwhp, you will need nitrous oxide or some other power adder. At that, you'll end up wondering why you didn't buy a TT.
