300zx engine problem!!

Hi, I have a 1990 300zx N/A and recently its been acting weird. I was driving one day and the car suddenly stalled out, then wouldnt start back up so i had to get it towed home. As soon as the tow guy dropped it off it started right up. Then i noticed this trend keeped on happening, i would driving it for about 15 mins, then the car would automatically shut off and wont turn back on. I can hear the started trying to crank it over but it just wont start. I would let it sit for a few hours and it would start back up. What could this be? Please help!! thank you! P.S. its a 5 speed.

I had this same exact problem last year and it was my PTU. Replaced it and it hasn't done it since.

My Z had the s1 ptu and i replaced it with the s2 ptu. Once I installed it, the vehicle would not start at all. I did the wiring correctly and triple checked it. I check to make sure my CAS is working and also checked my ECU for any codes. The only code it put out was 55 meaning there are no codes stored in the ecu. What else could it be? Please help!!

i also made sure my fuel pump is working. I checked my spark plugs and there was fluid on them so the injectors must be working as well.

Check your fuel pressure to make sure its good then I'd start checking the coil packs to make sure their even firing. Could have had bad luck and gotten a bad PTU.

Ok so it finally runs!!! Idk what caused it to start up, but the last thing i did before it started running was disconnect the battery cable and remove the ecu harness to check continuity from the harness to the ptu connector...wierd. Thanks for all the help!

Sounds like a fuel pump.
