Should be, not sure why you would want to go skinnier unless you are looking at winter tires. Even then the car would be insane to drive in snow..
I would suggest doing the opposite and put the TT rims all the way around 16x8.5 all around, you can even rotate your tires then.
if you are looking for a good rain/dry tire got with the Bridgestone Potenza S03, it's a great tire.. The RE730 isn't bad either... The wet traction is amazing..
