ok so i have a 90 z32 2+2 auto, im about to swap a tt in it cuz my N/A is BONED i believe. im trying to get opinions on whether i should keep the automatic or do the 5spd swap as well...as far as power and durability, which way should i go? i know i wont blow off with an a/t which sucks but i also know off stock internals i can push up to 20 psi. just lookin for some opinions. I appreciate it.

 

As far as not being a woman, go with the 5-speed.

They also hold more power without modification.

And you have much research to do. The amount of boost the stock internals can handle is HUGELY dependent on which turbos (stock turbos are inefficient at 20psi), and which supporting mods (with stock injectors, you can't push past 16psi or so, and without aftermarket intercoolers, you wouldn't be wise to do 20psi even on the most efficient turbos).

 

Don't go auto, auto's suck and are a complete PITA to diagnose and can't take much.

 

alright thanks, the 5 spd is what i plan on doing with it..just havin the normal $$$ issue. ill do much more research on it now though. it was just an idea at first when i replaced my injectors, which backfired on me like a ****...

anybody interested in takin this project off my hands or know anyone who would trade for maybe a 240?? til i can afford to just go out and buy a TT that is. lol im just severely needin a DD right now since this WAS mine.
