Turn Signal Switch Issue

Hello everyone,
Just a little introduction I'm new to z32 ownership, it's always been my dream car and it only took me 16 years to finally get me one! So last week I purchased a 91 Z32 TT 82k original miles. Today while dropping off my friend I noticed my high beam lights wasn't working. Its not even registering with the indicator on the dash. All other lights work fine until I try to use my high beams at which time my low beams and fog lights shut off. I believe I may have a faulty turn signal switch, but then again I'm new to all this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the ZDriver forums! :icon_super:

Check out a free factory service manual at XenonZ32.com Reference. Other good Z32 documents as well.

There are step by step procedures in the manual for checking out components like your light stick - which I assume is like the Z31's. New replacement parts are no doubt available - or the procedure for disassembling and cleaning them has been posted here and can be located.

Are you sure both your low beams come on? This usually happens if a fuse is blown on either low-beam or your headlight dim relay is faulty. Check under the hood in the relay panel.

Hope you figure it out, happy motoring.

yeah both of the low beams (the round ones inside the headlight) come on along with all of the other lights on the car. the only ones not working are the high beams. When you high beam switch is active the low beams and fog lights go off, but no high beams come on leaving me with no light.

replace the red relay with a known working relay and try again.
