Tranny swap issues--- help!
Sooo .. I've done the research on how to do the auto to 5speed swap and I've completed it. The only issue now is the alternator won't charge and I'm getting a bunch of lights on my dash: the hicas light, alternator battery light, and abs light. I own a '90 TT and the tranny is from a 93 NA. I purchased an alternator harness from Z1. I've double, triple checked the connections and they're all where they need to be. Should be pretty simple right? The alternator was working before I did the swap so I don't know what the issue is. Any and all help would be much appreciated! Thanks

belts Tight
The tension on the Z belts is very tight, you might want to double check. Deflection in only supposed to be a few cm. Why did you need a new alternator harness, and have you had it tested >?, if it is an aftermarket wire harness, there is a remote chance a temp worker helped make it(this happens where I work, lots of temps, sometimes crap work), and a wire or two are out of place. A few wires reversed and no charge or worse. push in the center of the belt with about 14 pounds of force and the belt should deflect 1/4 to 3/8"

I grabbed a new harness because when doing the auto to 5speed swap you need a new harness to wire it all. It wires into the alternator, tranny, and a few plugs behind the passenger headlight.
