Tail lights

Anyone bought these tail lights off ebay?

They look great to me, only thing I'm worried about is if the black around the edges will match the black of the stock center section. Or if anyone knows an affordable option that comes with the center section. The real J-spec ones are nearly 400 bucks which I just can't pay.

lulz... uber crappy photoshopping... too bad there's not a single pic of them ACTUALLY on a Z32.

I still think the JSpec tails reign supreme. But if someone's dead-set on cutting corners (or if the JSpec tails ever cease to be available), they're not horrific.

Notice, though, that the lenses do NOT line up evenly with the lenses on the center panel.

But seriously, dude, the Z32 deserves better. You're driving one of the most elegant Japanese cars ever made... why the hell are you looking on eBay for cosmetic modifications?

Furthermore, it looks retarded to have a stock center panel with even JSpec tails... there are more differences than just the clear lenses in the tails, they also have chromed inner housings which makes the entire setup look brighter. Having the stock USDM center panel will make it look like an incomplete modification, regardless of which tails you install.

My advice is to save up for real JSpecs, whether you get them used or new. I got a set of JSpec tails (with center panel) for $225 + my old tails when a friend was selling his Z.

Yea terrible photoshop job! I was looking on eBay because we are in the middle of a recession and like a lot of people I don't have a large excess of money. So if I can get something for 1/3 the price I'm willing to dig a little and find out about it. Thanks for the photo, I can see that the glossyness isn't the same and I can also see how they don't line up with the backup lights. I'll be avoiding them for sure.

Good choice. And if the recession is impacting you that much, perhaps modding a car isn't in your best interests, right now.

i thought about going that route at one point, then i realized that the pin stripes are really worth it. i'll be holding off until i can afford the real ones, mostly for the pin stripes, and partly for the rest of the differences that zlover pointed out.
