Alright, I still don't understand the small population of Z drivers in the world. I am a street racer locally, and EVERY time I go out I get at least 5-10 people who come up and talk to me about my car...first question ALWAYS being "Is it a Twin Turbo?" like everyone is programmed to say this first, but it seems that the majority of people who race like the 300zx, and all I recieve is complements.

Which brings me to wonder why so many people are compelled to buy DSMs and Hondas first over these cars...there are only like 3 Zs total that I've ever seen at the races, Mine, Buddahs (which I havent seen in some time), and another white TT that only comes out once in a long while. If so many people compliment my car, and gawk over the fact that there is a Z out there, then why aren't more people looking to actually own one for themselves???

Its a mystery to me, and I suppose you could say that they can't afford one, but then how do some of these people drive $15,000 cars or own like 5 hondas...I just don't see any excuse for it, and it bothers me. I guess in a way its a good thing though, keeps the prices on motors and parts down to a minimum, unlike the recent skyrocket of 240sx parts. I just wish I wasn't the lone Z driver among dozens of DSMs and Hondas.

I kind of like have a Z because no one else has one, I've seen maybe like 8 Z's in my life on the road, its such a rare car these days, when people see it, they are always impressed, I drove through a huge mall last nigth, I coulda swore everysingle hot girls eyes were on me , but the bad part is, since our community is so small, I think that there is a much smaller market for Z parts which makes them cost more, but I'm not complaining I like my Z alot more than I did my 240.

well. LOL to it all. i never actually went to the street races in my Z. because of the fact that I don.t wanna risk getting impounded. so i just stuck to wagzrace, and Drifto. two yes these cars are quite stylish. I've only seen a few Z in town and teh fastestone is liek a $15,000+ twin turbo. we;; that's how much he's invested in the engine alone not including turbos. and yes i know him and No noone admires him or his car. why you say? well he's one cocky SOB.he says's he's the conqueror. because if you beathi's 300 he'll get his bike on you. so noone likes him. adn all other 300ZX wherer driven by quite old people (65 - 70) or girls. no girls wheren;t hot they where repulsive. I guess they where trying to make it up with the car, ( don;t think it works with girls) and me well for some time I had the screechign belts so that is unsexy. lol after that everyone loved the car. and it also seemed liek everyone had that "Is it a Turbo?" programed in their head. i never got pissed or anithing it was just agrivating I'd reply "do you see the emblem?" then they woulday No and get their answer. gilrs loved it my ex thought it was really cute. tought her how to drive in it. never stalled. but she punded ont he RPM's quite well. and now she has a Kia Rio so I'm liek WTF?!!! why buy such a shitty 8K dollar car when you could have gotten a Z with that?! all she said was she didn;t know she thought they was more expensive. LMAO i'm done enjoy the decoding.

people suffer what some call the 4banger syndrome. since F&TF came out, they think that all true muscle machines come from hondas or what ever with psssshhhhhht. if they can rob a trailer truck, they can win races!

and since a couple of sr20's will pull a premium before race wars, you better get them before they run out! even if you have a honda and an acura sitting on the car lift DONT MAKE ME CHOOSE BETWEEN 30 WEIGHT OR 40 WEIGHT!

HAHA LMAO, You actually quoted that a little too accurately, is there something you want to tell us? Is your name Johnny Tran or something. Its funny cause I totally agree about these ***** little 4 bangers w/ their B and D series motors riceing around thinking their speed racer, mr. F&F, its rather disgusting IMO, ask me, i'll just stick w/ the RWD Nissans or some form of Turbo AWD (maybe a DSM...maybe).

Only mitsu worth considering would be an EVO, but then you could always go with a subby.

I remember when i first got my car. Went down to Chinatown, hooked up with some guys and headed down to some deserted areas that they knew. I had just bought my car...So....you know..... Kinda had to see what she had.
Even for a completely stock NA, i ate everything there easily. Modified Hondas and 240's, everything fell to the mighty NA Z. LOL

Damn, that makes me sad...I got my *** handed to me by a SOHC CRX...TWICE on Sat. Night, made me pretty pissed...there is no excuse for a CRX beating a 300ZX. I think it has A LOT to do w/ my AT and the bad launches I get, maybe a high stall torque converter is a good temp fix.

sounds like it.
I made high rpm drops that night. Spun tires thru second gear, paid for it later tho. Clutch only lasted a few more months after that.

I kind of agree for the ricer class................ but for $30k+, there's alot of other cars that I'd own first. One of the reasons civics, dsm's and the like are so popular is because kidz can get them cheap. It's not usually the car of choice, it's affordable. Just like used Z's, they're at the higher end of affordable.

Alot of kidz with newer evos, subbys, and even 350's, pay $600+ month car payments and live with mom-n-pops for free.

Hehe, actually I kick it w/ a DSM group, and i'll tell you...DSMs were their first choice, these guys are pretty into their cars. BTW, I'd probably take an EVO MR over anything else for that price, you ever seen one take off the line?

I'm going to tell a true story here, so don't burn me and try to say I'm lying, I **** you not on all this: I had a friend who just moved to the Philippines who had 2 Skylines (**** you not), one he imported from Japan himself and had around 60k under the hood (**** you not again, this kid was in the import/export and was pretty well paid) neway, he ended up selling that Skyline (w/ the 60k) and bought an Evo XIII MR, and 20K in return, just for the trade in on his Skyline. And later put a larger turbo in this thing was seriously and some other ****, it was seriously tuned. You shoulda seen this thing go, I've never seen any streetable car that moved like this thing, no domestic I’ve ever seen drag race even at the track had anything on this EVO. He was definitely faster than his other skyline (R33 w/o the 60k of mods) and the damn thing smoked everything from this Turbo Porsche Carrera to a Cobra Mustang, and a pretty beefy Nova that was also tearin ***, this EVO rocked, I'd say it was AT LEAST a 10-11 sec. car, and it isnt really how fast it went, but how damn quick it took from the line, @#$kin lightning car. Nothing w/o AWD could come close to catching this thing. K, i'm done rambling on...
