you mean mid grade?

i've run it back in the day when i was commuting a lot, but knowing what i know now about the dangers of it (detonation and shattered pistons) i no longer do.

YES it will damage your motor. If you have an NA, it's a high compression engine, requiring high octane. If you have a Twin Turbo, don't even think about it, just run premium or you will detonate your engine.

You bought a Z32, not a Civic. There's a reason it says "Premium Only" in the owners manual (and probably on the gas cap, too, I don't recall for sure).

Just go easy on the throttle. The car can obviously run on improper fuel, but the risk of detonation is higher. So until the tank is sufficiently low (you don't have to wait until E, the fuels will mix thoroughly), just drive like a normal person... no full throttle bursts.

Why would you even put cheap gas in the car anyway? You might save $0.20, but that's a tiny savings for the huge risk of a $1200 motor + $800+ (easily) to replace it.

By the way, your near-dying problem at start-up could be a vacuum leak, bad spark plugs, etc. My recommendation there is a basic tune-up... next time you change the oil, also clean your air filter, clean the throttle bodies, clean (or replace) the spark plugs, clean the MAF, etc.

octane boost has a reputation of damaging O2 sensors. 92 octane is just fine for your car.

not to mention, running octane other than what your car is tuned for doesn't benefit anything.

is what bad? i just explained to you that it could be bad. if you don't need it (you don't) then don't take the risk. you go from one bad gas to another bad gas. what you need to put in your car is plain clean unmixed premium 92 octane. that is all.
