This can be deleted if its deemed unimportant:

I recently ordered a new fan for Shelby's car, as the old one had cracks between every fin, from Courtesy Nissan Parts (in Texas, the dealership suggested on Zdriver.com).

I got an email about the day after I ordered it saying that even though the site had said it was in stock, it was in fact back ordered. I was planning on going to a Z BBQ in Redmond this weekend so I asked if they could expedite the shipping, which they did; for free.

I don't think the Z32 forums has a place to talk about good/bad shops, but maybe we should. In any case, Courtesy Nissan in TX is excellent!

In my book a company that does everything right is a good company, a GREAT company fixes their mistakes and does the right thing, and quickly.

The Z32 is running. It has an eaten belt (think it needs it idler pulley replaced), and the fan has had big cracks between fins since day one. Its Shelby's car but I do the work on it for the most part because her dad disavowed it before we got it. He and I are pretty good with each other so he works on it with me, and helps me do things to it (he still refuses to talk about it when shelby is present lol). He actually had the idea to clean the MAF. So its either I work on it, or it goes to a mechanic, and since we live in Port Townsend, there is only one choice. The mechanic we use is pretty good, very fair, etc. but he is eccentric (to a degree) and doesn't like the car because it has low compression on one cylinder bank, was in an accident, and appears to be exhibiting lifter tick (I thinik) to a degree. I don't own a Z32, for clarification.

In terms of shelby's Z. She provides the money, her mom is the technical owner (because shes so young) and, I am the easy stuff mechanic. Zdriver.com is the repair manual

EDIT: its the A/C belt that is eaten. Shes getting the 120,000 mile service done soon, there is a good deal on courtesy parts right now for one. Well, it may not be a good deal, but its cheaper to buy the kit with belts, rather than without. The belt is still on, just split down the middle.

I know, she know. I actually like it because I get to mess around with it (the car u perv). She'll have the money (she already does for the parts, how much you reckon the labor would be?). She works 7 days a week, between a movie theatre and waitressing/dishwashing. I get to work on it, I get to work on my best friends miata (just did a brake job/caliper paint). We're turboing the miata this summer.

damn good luck with the turboing and let me know how it goes. It'll be a fun, fast, little car when that happens.

Does it have a 1.6 or 1.8 or??

1.6 its an NA. I kinda wish we had an NB to mess with but, whatever. He wanted to buy a 600cc sport bike, but I talked him out of it. Its more useful to have a car, especially for him. We're gonnah go with one of the mid level turbos from Flyin' Miata, maybe the upper level one if we can swing the cash. The day before we did the brake job we put in a stronger differential out of a wrecked drift miata.

yeah, thats the beauty of it. That engine was originally meant to be turbocharged (like your friend's GTX). Its fantastic. I think if we had an NB we would go with the supercharger.

yeah, thanks snowy. I'm not retarded for getting the car for my first, and OF COURSE IM PAYING FOR EVERYTHING. Ezra's gotten me gifts but Im not gonna allow him to pay for everything that needs to get fixed. Ezra is nice about it and fixes the car when it needs it. And my family BOUGHT the car for me so I don't think they're entitled for doing squat on it anyways. They buy it, I spend my money on everything else. Fair deal to me.

I need to read these more often, I seem to be getting a bad reputation on here thanks to some people

It was a friends friend and he backed out. Was thinking about throwing one little get together in PT, its a nice drive and there are a couple of nice ones around. Highway 101 was voted (by a magazine I respect, can't remember which at the moment) as one of the best places to drive. We have Fort Worden for the actual BBQ. If its too long of a drive my dad has a business in Kent that we can use the parking lot in, they even have a BBQ. Let me know fi you're interested.

Haha you guys don't know courtesy as a common vendor? I just joined this forum, that's not a good start... He seemed quite unfamiliar. CourtesyParts.com is THE place to go for OEM Z parts, what was said about making things right in a great company is absolutely true. I must've ordered 30 parts from them by now ranging from belts, keys, intercooler piping, you name it. Recently I ordered a power steering belt for my swapped twin turbo, made sure to order the NA belt because I have the NA pump with a thinner pulley. Well, I still received the TT belt, which agitated me quite a bit because even the part number was the same, they just had it listed wrong on the site. I contacted courtesy immediately, frustrated because of the fact that I'd have to process an RMA, send it back, go through the whole hassle. Had an email within a few hours saying "Tom, we apologize for the mix-up, the right belt has been shipped to you. No worries about returning anything." That is putting the customer first, although not a huge loss for them to take, the fact that they took action immediately is what meant a lot to me. The end, welcome me to the forums, thanks.

courtesy has been well known around here for a long time. it is posted in all of our "where to get parts" threads, and has been for quite a while. ezra is just new to the z world and forgot to check our link pages .

Not so much the lack of knowledge that bothers me, it's the stupid questions and lack of knowledge of how to use the search function, that's my biggest pet peeve.

at the same time im sure you have done it as well as everyone else. sometimes people do search though on something that has been discussed but if you use teh wrong terms you could spend HOURS flipping threw hundreds of threads and not find an answer, some deserve immidiate **** such as, how can i turbo my NA... but others you have to let some slack on. however yes the search function should be first, there is no argument there from anyone.
