OBD question

Basically does it have OBD1 and where to find. Was looking at getting an OBD2 for my newer cars but if this one had OBD1 I might invest in one for it as well. So far i've just seen the ECU as the place to get codes.

OBD-II = all cars 96 and newer.

What year is your car?

What?

If you mean you want to change TO OBD2. Don't. Its not worth the work.

It's a 92, yeah, I know 96 and newer for OBD2, but OBD1 was pretty much standard before that, maybe not on imports thou. Just wondering if it has it or not.

There was no standard for OBD-I and it was up to each car maker to have their own diagnostic tests. EPIC FAIL... thus the reason OBD-II was released.

I'm still not sure what your original question was asking...

Yes, that answers it. Just wondering if the codes could be pulled somewhere other than the ecu for obd1, but looks like it's just at the ecu. A lot of makes had obd1 connectors from 82 on, but pretty much hit and miss.

Thanks for the info, I'm going to research that further. Looks like it works with the Z32.
