New here

Hey I had a few Q's about some Z stuff. I can get a 93 TT with 52K miles for 10k but its auto, is it still worth it? It is in mint condition. Also if I get that Z or a different one, which is the best online retailer for parts? I have a 86 celica right now and I have done modding too, but one thing is that no one but Pacesetter makes headers for us to use and same with the cat-back....only pacesetter, and they BLOW. The headers are crap and so is the exhaust. Its better to just get a high-flo cat and nice muffler and go from there. Is that the same way here? Whats the best cat-back for the money? I would also like to get a ECU upgrade but not sure where to go and what to look for, same as intake. I mean I know what to look for but I dont know what is known for its quality and price. I saw sthis and I was curious if it was worth it or not. (Twin Turbo stage 3 upgrade)

If I wanted to get better turbos where would I go and how much would I be looking at? Whats the best suspension set-up? I use the celi for Auto-X and its a fun little car with roughly 180HP, but I want something newer and faster. I know some people that have them and I fell in love. So I am here to stay and hopefully you will see pics of the new car as soon as I get it....the sooner the better.

P.S Would I have to do anytihng to the tranny with those upgrades?

Welcome to ZDriver.
I'd like to direct you to my Link Page.
I think you should familiarize yourself with the Z before you dive in head first.
The Z isn't inexpensive to repair or mod. Unlike your celica, parts are plentiful and are readily available from different manufacturers.
The automatics are problematic for the Z's. Research the car you're planning to buy for possible problems down the line. A new trans may be in your future.

I'm positive that most of the questions you have will be answered in my Link Page.
A little searching will take you a long way.

Hey, welcome to the world of Zs, These cars are just a LITTLE more tunable than a 86 Celica, (ie. Apex'i, HKS, Greddy, JWT, JUN, Nismo parts to just name a few) If your looking for "newer and faster' your looking at virtually the equivelent power capacity of a Skyline by going w/ a TTZ (In a lot of areas, but not completely), no need to worry about pacesetter being the premium here. Check out Rizz's link page and get familiarized with these cars, and you'll soon see how much potential these cars hold. Welcome again, any questions are welcomed, but doing research first is usually a plus, my best suggestion is the Search bar for any questions you may have.

That deal is a great deal. My buddy, Charles Park, has an auto and he's running 11.2 with stock turbos, injectors, and intecoolers.

I read that the auto early 90's trannies were bad, but would it be the same for the 93?

Yep. His tranny isn't stock.....He did run an 11.9 with the stock auto tranny. His tranny has 220K miles on it and he drags it all the time. He has a 92 I think. Really, I think that that deal is a great deal. A low mileage is hard to come by and if you do, it's usually never close to 10K! I wouldn't pass it up!

Dunno about a 93, but my damn 90 AT went out....seems to be holding up really well after the rebuild. I'm reasonably sure that a 93 Z w/ 52k miles should be able to withstand a whole lot more than mine could. Of course thats all on how the car was treated.

twinturbo.net is the biggest. There's also 300zxclub.com, zcar.com, etc etc.

I think your previous post is deceving emo....he has sever mods done but his turbo, injectors, and intercooler are STILL stock. You make it sound like the only thing he has done is injectors and intercoolers but his turbos are stock
