lightest Z32?

i just found myself getting curious recently, about how light a z32 could possibly get. i don't know why. i don't have any plans or anything. i did the google search thing and i found the weight reduction article in tt.net, but i'm wondering about an actual number that someone has gotten from their car. the tt.net article had a lot of ????'s beside it.

Most people don't bother weighing their cars because 1) what's the point? 2) they don't know where to have it done. You won't find good numbers. But with full weight-reduction (from the post I'm sure you're referencing), you could probably get the car to 3000lbs give or take. Ultimately, that's only good for a track car where everything about the suspension is adjustable, though. Removing that much weight REALLY impacts the feel of the Z32 and will change its handling characteristics.

that one more or less says that a 3300 lb. z can be brought down to 2562 for track purposes. i guess what i was wondering was if that's accurate. i'm guessing that's pushing it a little bit.

ask honad over at http://www.kczclub.com/forums/ how much his slick top weighs. i know he's doing major WR on it. he weighs each item as he takes it off too.

The local dragstrip weights cars, and if you don't trust their scales you can take your car to a truck scale (I take cars to one for my work, they charge $5) Truck scales have to be accurate so you know it's legit.

IF you stiffened the suspension and lightened the car I don"t see how that could negatively affect the handling characteristics. Not feeling the weight transfer would be a relief in tight turns. I understand the car was designed with weight in mind like any true sports car. I don't care about WR, if I did I wouldn't eat fast food and put a 40lb sub in the trunk.
