Jdm tail light cheap alternative

Ok so one of my good pals has a 300zx with jdm tail lights. I asked where he bought them and for how much and he told me he took the actual yellow tape off of the tail light with as= heat gun and some razors. I never got a chance to ask him how he got into the tail light housing but thats ok. Maybe some of you can lend me some knowledge about opening and disassembling the tail lights on the 300zx

Perfect exactly what i wanted to do. I might take pictures of my project and post them on here when I'm done to show if its as easy as this guy did it.

Be prepared - it won't look as good as actual JSpec tails, and people like me (and you, in time) will be able to tell the difference.

I just like this option because its affordable and im not going to paint the pin stripes like the guy on twinturbo.net did. I might just leave it with no pin stripes at all OR get actual vinyl pinstripes so they dont come out thick and ugly.

@Domsgarage I'll take a look thanks. My car is under the cover in my backyard for winter already so I have time to replace things that I was planning to before but couldnt find the time.
