JDM Swap on 1990 NA with A/T

Hi Fellows,
I am finding mixed reviews, reading the forums on putting a JDM into USDM ride. I have tested the JDM motor and seems to have all good signs of a used motor in premium shape, I hope! Keep in mind that this is Naturally Aspirated,,, NOT TT and automatic tranny also.

I am going to put both motors side by side on engine stands to compare the differences in them. I was told by the salvage dude that I would have to swap plenums and exhaust manifolds. Upon preliminary inspection (old motor still in car), most things appear to be the same other than porting of some vac hoses, etc.

Can I just change the configuration of the routing of hoses and lines to match the USDM engine or am I missing something here? This is my first Z32 and in-depth R & R on a motor and transmission.

I am also wondering how much polution stuff a guy can remove, with out affecting engine performance on the NA, I live where emission law isnt enforced yet, so.......... The exhaust is my biggest concern on whether I can remove just the precats or the cat converter also and just run stock mufflers. I have done the EGR delete on the stand so far and prolly the AIV's too.

Any advice and opinions will be greatly appreciated. When I get this swap done, then it will be time to put in my Stage VI motor and tranny from Z1, a nice 22k touch to the pocket book......LOL! My Son and I invested in a car lift........what a dream!!!

Thanks, Jim
