installing a sub
i'd like to install a subwoofer in my 90 n/a z32. i saw a stealthbox on the JL audio website. has anyone used that stealthbox? is it any good? how expensive is it? does anyone have any other recommendations for installing a sub, but not taking up too much space in the hatch?

Re: installing a sub
They are not cheap but they sound good. Someone was offering a group buy on them on twintubo.net for ~$400. They are normally priced around $450 I think. I had one in my last Z and it sounded great, but I think 4 fiddy is way too steep for what you get. Go do some research on the net, buy you some materials and lay a fiberglass sub enclosure in your spare tire well with either a 10" or 12". You'll come out a lot cheaper and you will be even more stealth. who needs a spare anyway? :)

Re: installing a sub
what is the sub in the stealth box? A W6? They sound ok. It wasnt loud enough for me. it depends on how loud you want it. the W7 is what im looking at getting now. its really loud and clean.

Re: installing a sub
my roommate and i decided one night (while drinking beer) to go ahead and make a box for my Z. i already had a box i pulled out of my old car, so we just decided to knock off a couple of corners, make it slightly smaller, and make it fit. it looks kinda ghetto, but it fits rather well. i can still fit two sets of golf clubs along with the t-tops. i haven't wired it yet, but i'll take care of that on wednesday. it should do the job, and it should still be pretty loud.

Re: installing a sub
Does anyone know where the hole in the firewall is so that I can run the amp power wire through? I couldnt find it and I dont really want to drill one.
