HICAS did not prevent you from regaining control of your car. Sorry to hear that happened though.

 

I'll take pics of the damage tomorrow. they where going in the same direction i was when it happened. pretty much how it happened was;

I was on the offramp on the freeway, its a 2 lane downhill with a sloped down right turn. i saw a white truck coming really fast from behind me but thought nothing of it since he was on the lane to my left. (i was in the left lane to exit right lane empty) this guy apparently tried to over take me or get in front of me to exit, but when he went on to get in my lane i knew he was going to hit me since he swerved in and his rear bumper was still in my door i slammed on the brake but he still managed to tap my front bumper... and thats when i just felt the car loose it. i tried to just stay on the brake but that was only leading me straight forward to the wall, so i went ahead and just hit full lock on counter steer, and popped it in 3rd, stayed sideways for the whole right turn, felt like i was going to get the car back in control, that was wen i decided to "link the drift" so i can turn it around and just slow down in control since at this point the truck was already off roading. and that's where it got out of my control.

In my S13 when i wanted to swing the car back around all i had to do was tap the brakes and the rear end would swing around to the directions the front tires where pointing, apparently not in a Z32. when i taped the brake to swing the car back around the front end froze and the rear end started to swing the direction i was already going. so i taped the wall with the front bumper and broke the fog light and cracked the plastic end tank on my SMIC. still at full lock. after that the rear end swung completely around and my rear bumper also taped the wall. that was it.

so at that point my car had stalled, and i see the truck climbing up the hill (surprisingly in one piece still) once his front tires got back on the asphalt he just took off. i would have gone after him, but my SMIC was busted and yeah no boost = no go. made the hit and run report, and yeah had her towed back to my work. (I was closer to work than home, plus all the good body shops are in Orange country where i work) what a friggin day nice easter weekend i'd say right?

sucks man, well atleast its fixable and that they arent going to total it. stupid illegals..

 

ahhh, k cool now that makes more sense. yeah the Z32 steering is shallow linking the drift in it ive noticed is difficult. should just let off all power and brakes and trie to get it back under you. oh well at least its not like your last Z32.

 

yeah damage is very very minimal, like under 800$ to fix minimal, just hate the fact that it has to come out of my pocket. I dun got a thing agains all Illegal Aliens, just the kind that are like them, do stupid things and give em all a bad rep. but it's cool Karma will get him back. i guess its time to do 99Jspec front. ha ha or maby stick to the plan of the stillen lip kit.

i think you mean... picture. non plural. lol. you didnt even get the fender, thats nothing. turn signal paint and a fascia. your story made it sound a bit worse than that.

 

actually i think the link on the other pic was broken, but no the turn signal is fine ha ha i just had it off at the time to look at my cracked end tank. here is the pic of the rear bumper

 

ok that sucks, but i thinkthey should be able to pull it out. is it me, or does that wheel looks like its going outword?

 

i think it's the angle of the pic, I will double check tomorrow but all my suspension looked ok when i checked it, however i will double check tomorrow. but i backed into the wall so im pretty damn near 99% sure it's the angle, cause look at the front wheel looks the same.

 

i think its prolly the angle as well, ewwww big dent. gross! that sucks not even technically your fault and you got a several hundred dollar repair. thats the ghey

 

if anything did happen i might be as simple as a new hicas tierod

 

K tripple checked nothing is bent under there, its all cosmetic damage, exept for the sidemount wich is on the way. =)

 

hmm you might have some competition, when im done with project black widow.....

 

GAH!! man...thats not cool...I'm just out here in the OC for craps sakes...was halfway through an email to wife telling her I was about to have a girlfriend and everthing....

ol don't worry the Z32 is the cool weekend car, your competition will be either an S13, or a Datsun 720. =)
