:( I need help too!!! :(

ok so I was on my way to school today right. an dmy belts just won't stop sqeaking. (they are about 3/8" thick) and I notise that after being on stop and go trafic for about 45 minutes My car is burning hot!!! I glanced over @ the temperature gauge it's about 3/16" from the H and I notice that when I start hauling *** again the temperature goes down slowly. then on the way back home it did not get that hot because the trafic was not that bad. I get home and I pop the hood I see there is alittle Antifreze driping from the bottom of the car. i decide to let it sit for like 10 mins then I open the radiator cap and itlooks pretty dry. I decided to putwatertop it up. I took the car for a drive and it did not get hot @ all but I just took it arround the block. so do you guy's have anyclue what might be going on? ? ?

First, tighten those belts.
Second, look for a possible leak.
Also, check your connections for the temp gauge and coolant gauge located directly in front of the fan on the output pipe of the water pump. Failure of either of those would result in a overheating issure. Happened to me once, bad connection.

If the cooling system is dry, then it's difficult for the temp gauge sensor to give you an accurate reading. Running the system dry can damage your radiator and water pump, so don't drive it without coolant. As Rizz said, tighten your belts. If coolant is leaking onto your belts, that will cause them to squeal also. When coolant dries, it is quite sticky. Try cleaning off your belts and applying a belt dressing to them. Good luck.

A new radiator cap on mine a month or so ago solved my missing coolant / coolant smell / running warm problem. $6 I think

with older cars it's a really good idea to check all of your fluids every other day. Y ou have to make sure everything is there, or it could cost you a whole lot more money to fix... like 91zxtt signature says... "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, how are you gonna have time to do it over" I love that

You may want to consider replacing the rubber lower radiator hose with the aluminum lower radiator pipe. I see them on ebay all the time for like $50. Courtesy sells them for $80. Stillen sells them for about $120. A pipe's a pipe. I replaced mine. It's a good upgarde. What all does the concept z kit come with? Have you thought about installing underdrive pullies? If so, now would be a good time to install them.

I agree with 91, now would be the best time to think about UR pullies. I did my 120 service when I bought the car (at 95K miles...didn't want to take any chances). I also bought the 120 kit from ConceptZ...has everything the 60K service has plus the idler pullies. I put in the full set of UR pullies at that time.

If you do decide to go with the UR pullies be sure to tell ConceptZ when you order 120k kit so they can include the proper size belts that will fit the new pullies.

I wish I thought about the lower rad pipe at the time. After we had everything back together it dawned on me...it's the age I tell you, I forget everything.

Either that, or it's the malted hops and bong resin? How old are you? I figure you can't be that old with Stewie and Brian as your avatar.

I saw these chrome water inake pipes on ebay today. They'd probably look kinda cool. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...929442281&rd=1

Here's the lower radiator pipe.

You giving me a hard time?
I'm 39. As for Stewie and Brian....that has nothing to do with lack of age....lack of maturity on the other hand (It wouldn't be the first time someone has labelled me that way).
I don't think I will ever really grow up.

Remember..."it's better to burn out than fade away"
That has to be one of the most widely used lines in Rock and Roll...and it's oh so true

Not even a little bit. I think most of us will wind up in the same boat as you.....we may grow old, but we won't grow up.

I know I will never grow up either. I might get old and fart out dust. but I will still be a little child. When I was little I had a shirt that my brother bought me, it said, "F**k cookies and milk, I want ******* and beer!" ( . Y . )
