how much is it worth?
paid $4k for it 2 years ago. 174k. long list of new stuff most of you know. to name off the big ones:
rebuilt heads (new valves/lifters/seals/usual) update to new style injectors egr delete 1-piece drive shaft front brake update to tt/(n/a '91+) including all new parts appropriate for the job outer tie rods 2 brand new tires, two with barely any left no a/c usual cosmetic damage (dings, minor paint peel) no problems driving non original color, original jams and bay new clutch fidanza fly-wheel ricer exhaust new timing belt/tensioner/idlers rear brakes turned/new pads stillen sport wing electric OEM leather seats (tan seats, gray/black interior. don't match, but look good) aftermarket fairly low quality stereo system w/400 watt amp drives great. no problems with driveability can i expect to get the $4k i paid for it back, or should i set my sights lower? i've got $10k total in it, so someone's got to realize that this is a pile of valuable low mileage parts right? i've got the means by which to part it out, but i'm just worried about the risk, so if i can get enough i'd like to sell it all together. what do you guys think? |
... why the hell are you even thinking about selling?
And you should know by now that a car that wasn't built by Ferrari or McLaren is almost never a profitable investment. You'll be lucky to get your $4k back. Sorry. |
number 1 you should sell this car is the tits its a late 90s and still looks good alot of people think that my car is made in the 2000s and are shock to find out its a late 90s.
number 2 you have invested so much in to it and there still so much to do number 3 this car go for a lot more then the Kelly blue book value almost double even triple for a turbo this car is close to priceless |
what?^^^ early '90's
selling because i have 0 money left to fix the next thing that breaks. i'm recognizing a trend and i'm too far from the end of the tunnel to keep going. so, i'm pretty much giving someone $6k worth of parts with it. that's the reason. sucks to hear you don't think i can get $4k back. |
well the big question is where you live car differ in prices to where you live, but in my parts that car could easily go for $7k. i understand the money thing i just put $1k in to fixing the stalling and the A/C but i did all the work my self, well not the A/C
|
Sight unseen, I'd say $4000-$4500.
|
i guess i forgot to mention that the $6k i put into it was parts alone. i did do all the work myself.
it's good to hear some higher numbers. so who wants to buy it? |
would NEVER go for 7k. I dont care where you live.
I think you could probably get close to 4 for it. You also know that youll never back what you put into a car but I dont think youre asking too much. Id say like 3500-4000. Im in Jersey, ive seen shells go for 1500, but ive also seen complete parts z's, running, go for 500. good luck. |

And thanks for following through regarding that email issue... /sarcasm |
never was i hoping for $7k or to get all the money i put in back.
i'd take $4k |
If you're in no rush to sell, you can always put it up on craigslist for more than you want and see if you get any interest. But after putting $6k into the car I'd imagine you'd have everything sorted. So I say keep it!
|
you should just put a for sale sign 10k obo and see what you get. i bought mine for 7k and its stock. you might get someone that really wants it regardless of kbb value
|
last year, about this time, i had it down as low as $3600 for a couple months and still couldn't sell it. it had a couple issues then that it doesn't have now though. still, hoping for $4k. i'll probably just keep it listed until i can get that.
