here's a link to that product if anyone's interested.

I think the main reason why most ppl go with the JWT ECU is because all that fuel and ignition timing is already done for you. Those maps are what they've found to be optimal for the mods you have. Granted if you upgrade beyond your ECU, you'll need to update your ECU. Which is what the E-Manage would allow you to do. Only if you KNOW what your doing. Most ppl don't want to get that indepth with their tuning. I know I'd rather spend the time driving my car than tuning it. That particular piece would be great if you had the understanding and training to make the most use of it. Frankly I don't think most ppl have the time or the patience for such an involved and obviously difficult piece of hardware. Besides the possibility of ****ing things up just go up with that much control.

you can add a boost controller. The ECU will only handle stock boost. If you want to go beyond stock you know whatcha gotta do.

The reason most ppl go with modified stock or somewhat small turbos is simple. Response. Plain and simple. Larger turbos take more time to spool up. Hence turbo lag. Ppl want the kick in the pants right away rather than having to reach the correct rpm to get into the powerband. Larger turbos with super high boost would only be practical at the track. That would only work on a track only car that wouldn't be driveable on the street. This is what stillen had to say about turbo upgrades.

300ZX turbo upgrades. The single most substantial power modification you can make to your Z is a turbocharger upgrade. Larger turbos flow more air and generate more boost. When choosing turbos, it is important to match the units to your intended use and driving style. The main trade off is lag and usable power versus peak power. In general, the greater the peak power, the longer it takes for the turbo to spool up and produce usable power. For street applications, you need maximum usable power on tap right now. This yields the best 0-60 times (for most of us), the best freeway roll-ons and the most controllable big power. As you become more track oriented, you can trade off varying amounts of lag for more power. Some track applications prize peak power over power band, others need a wider power band more than peak power. Steve Millen's IMSA car made adjustments with set ups and different turbos for different tracks and race lengths. Most of us can't change turbos and set up on a weekly basis, so we make the best choice for our all around requirements. The units are preset for 12 psi base boost and need a boost control device for higher boost levels. Note: Intake, Computer, Injector, Exhaust and Boost Controller upgrades, plus a set of racing plugs, and larger intercoolers must be installed with all Turbo Upgrades.

If anyone else wishes to add please do so

Ever heard the expression "Good things are hard to find?" lol Seriously though, you'll have to take into consideration that the Z changed from body style to body style. The older Z's, pre-84, have alot more incommon with each other. With the introduction of the 300ZX not only did you get the body style change, you got the larger motor, different suspension and the addition of the turbo. The introduction of the Z32 300ZX once again changed the body style, suspension, and motor with the addition of two turbos. Also you can't really compare a Civic to a Z. Civics didn't basically change much from '84 to '00. Minor changes to engine during that entire time plus the huge number that they sold in helps their popularity. The only major changes they got were in body styling and multiple trim levels. The Z32 only sold in all 7 years of production about 800,000 units, with most of those in the first few years. Finding cheap parts for an expensive car is an oxymoron. No such thing. Parts can be found and if you shop around you can find lower prices. You just have to be persistant or ask the right ppl. This car was built to be a world class sports car not a ppl mover grocery getter or economy sedan. Therefore, the parts used in its manufacture were not, or ever meant to be, cheap. You'll have to remember at the end of its run, the tt was selling for close to if not over 50K.

Ok. Now that I'm done preaching.
I, being such a nice guy, will be happy to provide you with some online retailers. Most of these are going to be only Z or Nissan related. As far as not finding these yourself, that's what forums like these are for. To help. Here we go.

Here is a faq page on the Z32.

Most of the retailers sell turbos. Read up on them and then you can decide for yourself. Obviously the more expensive the setup, the more hp you'll be looking at. Upgrading turbos is by no means just a drop and swap job. Most of the time you'll need to fortify your internals, upgrade your vacuum hoses, upgrade your intercoolers, and cooling system among other things. The forums I've listed all have FAQ pages you should look into. Also if you have specific ?'s, try the search function. I'm guessing your kinda new and most veterans get quite irritated at newbie questions. Especially on twinturbo.net since they're the oldest forum and they archive everything. They are a wealth of knowledge and feature several very useful writeups on maintenence, upgrades, and tuning. Just beware the regulars. On the forums, you should also look under the other subjects like general, regional, and the like. Information is everywhere. The hard part is getting to where you are.
