hey i'm new to this site. looks good so far i've read a few of the threads you all seem to be really helpfull and havent seen any bad nastygrams like on other sites. i'm not totally new to the z i've had my 94 na 2seater for a year now, it's the love of my life. haha. well just thought i'd say hi and that its good to find a place for some Q and A

snwbrderphat540 10-11-2006 12:32 PM

welcome to the site...we arent all innocent here....but we usually dont attack on you unless something rediculous is said like, how can i spend 100k on my car....or start being a dick to those who are being helpful, cause we like to stick together like family...lol. you did choose a great site and a great car....loved mine...but as i learned you prabably have or will...the z32 can turn bitch on you in a second....and then be both expensive and hard to repair...the only reason im not getting another one, and instead probably picking up a 240z in the near future.....

ZKruser94 10-11-2006 12:58 PM

Yeah its already started to suck down most of my income but with little to no obligations other thn rent and the dog i cant think of anything better to spend my money on. that and i dont have to depend on it for a daily driver so if something big goes down i'm not totally sunk. i wouldnt mind having a 240 too they are nice cars

emo236 10-11-2006 04:30 PM

welcome to the site. I guess that's why I'm having a hard time selling my S30....it's SO nice to have the best of both worlds...a Stg 5 TT and an original 240z.

snwbrderphat540 10-11-2006 04:55 PM

oh yeah i feel soo bad for you^^^^ boo hoo i have a 240 and a TT 300....with lots o mods....cry for me.....you monster, you should just give me the 240 think of how that will make you feel, just think....lol. youd be godly....absolutley godly...

ZKruser94 10-11-2006 05:56 PM

yeah i'd like to mod my z to no end i would like to get into some racing with it in a class with no power adders. so i plan on and have made a budget for full eng. work top to bottom i dont know where to go to get into the legal racing :unibrow: i just moved to the twin cities so i dont really know anybody or where the local tracks are :075: if any body knows any where i can go that would be good to know

wreckedj30 10-11-2006 07:24 PM

what up zkruser, and welcome...:111:

expect to get crap if you tell people how much you want to put into your NA.....expect it...

js9krcr01040 10-11-2006 11:41 PM

Welcome to the Zite. Its a comfy cruisy Caddy sort of ride over here (most other places are a little more, well, brutish)

CanyonCarver 10-12-2006 03:48 AM

Welcome.......... just don't ask about ka, sr or ls swaps and things will stay cozy. :) :)

ZKruser94 10-12-2006 06:48 AM

you really think people would be that big of a car nazi to give me crap for wanting to mod a car thats not forced induction? i understand that the tt will produce bigger num for less money but i like my na and for right now if i want to get started in racing then na class would be the place to start wouldnt it? :armata_PDT_35: sorry that sounded bitter i had to be to work 6:45 this morning.

b300z 10-12-2006 09:00 AM

its your Z, so you can do what you want to it....to an extent. i think you know what we would not be happy with

but some think that modding an n/a isnt very beneficial as compared to the TT. i say go for it...see what you can accomplish. i still wish i had my n/a so i could do some extra stuff to it. but thats another story

snwbrderphat540 10-12-2006 09:37 AM

naw that wasnt bitter, if there is a na class, look into it, some motors take very well to na builds. ours....meh.... go ahead get full exhaust and intake as mabye throw some underdrive pullies and crap...but when you get into crazy stuff like oo i wanna rebuild the engine with high comp and other wierd things....theres some people on here that will flame and others that will just keep there thoguhts to...why. and is this a road coarse race?

Comorat2x2 10-12-2006 12:01 PM

Welcome aboard, this place is great. Snwbrder is the resident Z'tard in case you hadn't noticed :D

snwbrderphat540 10-12-2006 12:10 PM

you only said that cause i bashed on the 2+2 once.....

snwbrderphat540 10-12-2006 12:14 PM

anyways..im a people person, people like me....lol
and im not a Z'tard at all....sometimes i just dont know when to close a thoguht and try to "elaborate" and end up making no sense....or, saying somehting dumb unintentional.....i think its some type of disease....

n/a, TT, or s30...tho i would really love to have my cherry pearl girl back

sometimes i dream of what i woulda done to that if i hadnt sold it:(

snwbrderphat540 10-12-2006 01:41 PM

you n me had the same car at one point B....i also want a 240Z for now to just make look amazing, so i have enough money to get a motorcycle...then after a year or so of saving, start some sort of motor swap....ya no? a TT would be nice but i just KNOW it will suck my funds like crazy...

b300z 10-12-2006 01:43 PM

eric, i wish you would have bought my body kit...i might still have my Z then. troy called me wanting the body kit when you were interested in it. and i said NO. its for eric

snwbrderphat540 10-12-2006 01:47 PM

shit...i remember that...sorry bro, i lost money on something....i definatly dont remember where...but instead you traded it for a TT...it kinda worked out well no?
i truly only wanted the front end...but for the price the sides and rear might as well...then when we were workin it out....boom something happened...i cant remember what though....im really drawing a blank....

b300z 10-12-2006 02:06 PM

haha, yea im glad i had the TT, but as i look back, i would have been better in the long run with my n/a

so, zkruser. if you ever go TT, make sure its a solid TT. but you can be happy with an n/a

snwbrderphat540 10-12-2006 03:27 PM

haha...yeah we had a fun investigation on that TT, that guy was shady....i hated him, after speaking to him once i called hima D-bag and never picked up the phone again...i knew he was FOS.....man he pissed me off...i think even if i did buy the kit you still woulda gave the NA up for the TT...dont lay that on me i felt bad enough backing out of the deal, especially when people backed out of 3 other dealls with me the following 2 months about exhaust systems...bastards......

i wouldnt have bought it from him if i didnt have the body kit. cuz that means i would have just spent some good money on my n/a to make it how ive always wanted it

haha. i wish you were there to hit me over the head with the balance tube
i knew i shouldntve gotten it one i had gotten up there. i didnt know about the lifter tick or the oil leak(which i didnt find out about until later anyways) plus a few other things. i did go in looking for somewhat of a project. but when it came time to deal, i was too big of a pussy to back down(1 because it was FAST, and 2 because i had just driven 6 hours and was under stress of going all the way for nothing). what i wish i would have done was fix the safety boost and let him feel 11psi probably for the first time. and then say no thanks.
i learned my lesson from this tho. next TT im droppin fat cash after lots of investigation.

snwbrderphat540 10-12-2006 07:22 PM

i think you ment... Phat cash....Phat with a ph....liek my name....lol...thats how you know your cool

It's ADD. lol The good news is it's treatable with a perscription, the bad news is it isn't medical weed.

z-hag 10-13-2006 07:28 AM

hi, ng--so, you have one of the z32 na type z's, eh?? i have 1 na and 2 turbo z31's. the na is fun, but the turbos are waaaayyyyy funner!! welcome. have fun learning here--you will learn a lot. might get a little razzing, but that's all in good fun and frolic.

haha...i do have ADD...but no more meds for it...had to get rid of them before i started to become a pilot, so they werent on my med record (the perscription) for my medical and student license....and never can have them again.
and z-hag funner isnt a word...momre fun, lol just messin

ZKruser94 10-13-2006 10:06 AM

Looking to get more into road or i think its autocross. there was a group of older guys with there vettes that would get to gether and race in a big parking lot that was temp turnd into a track where i used to live. wasnt old enough to get into it then though. not so much competitive drag racing but i wouldnt pass up a day at the strip.i've done full exhause headers to the mufflrs alum fly wheel one piece drive shaft cold air and i have and afc neo that i would like to get hooked up and dyno tuned but dont know any of the shops in town either. ignorance is bliss isnt it:038:

I find my slightly lower RWHP offsets the higher maint costs of a turbo in the fun area :D Money is fun too.

slightly? under 200rwhp compared to 400+rwhp.....not even close....you're talking fast car vs. mediocre power outputs.

Under 200? It turned 230 at the rear wheels with new airfilters and an oil change a couple years back when I tossed it on the dyno just for giggles. We were checking out the car my dad and his buddies were building for Boneville, now TYHAT bastard cranked out a cool 731.....it was insane, but that's what 80k in engine gets you....

Anywhoo....under 200? Since when? Now granted, 230 isn't throwing me back in the trunk when I jump on it but my car is far from mediocre.

b300z 10-15-2006 09:40 AM

230? how? theres no way if youre completely stock. heavily modded n/as dont even get to 230rwhp
a good condition stock n/a should be in the low 190s

OK, I don't know what kind of dyno you were testing on, but I assure you, it was incorrect. the STock specs for an NA (AT THE FLYWHEEL!) is 222hp. There's no way you have more than what a perfect condition motor would have at the flywheel at the wheels. No way. Like b300z, 190s is typical for a GOOD running NA. IF you have 230rwhp, I'd like to see what kind of motor you have in your NA. I garuntee it's not a stock VG30DE.

ZKruser94 10-16-2006 09:32 AM

Oh boy what have i started i was just lookng to get into racing not open a dark burning rift between the na and tt owners there is no debate that the tt is can produce big number better thn the na thats forced induction for ya any engine can make good nums using turbos or sc'rs because of the huge increase in valumetric efficientcy. so tt na what ever we all still drive a Z and that puts us in a class of our own!

you smell that...smells cheezy :wasted:

Duh.... it's a stock vg30e. The de's were around 215. Gotcha there.:paranoid:

you sure? Might want to do your research.

everywhere you look, it says 222hp.

wreckedj30 10-16-2006 03:17 PM

I thought we were talking about the foot pounds of torque. But yeah and i thought those numbers were to the flywheel.:paranoid:

yes, 222hp to the flywheel. There's no way that you could dyno 230hp to the wheels when the specs are 222hp to the flywheel. Due to drivetrain loss, you'll always lose hp when going from the flywheel to the wheels.

snwbrderphat540 10-17-2006 11:11 AM

ugh^^^ the only advantage to front wheel drive...which is why they made mid engine cars....whihc in turn are incredibly hard to work on

I dunno and belive me I'm not trying to use this as some sort of "mines bigger than yours" thing. I'm just stating what I know to be as accurate as what I saw personally. Kinda wish I had kept the ticket from the dyno now....oh well.

As for my engine, it's as stock as it gets for a 13 year old car. Some parts have been replaced but nothing in the "performance" field to be sure. I suppose I could take a picture of my engine once I get it cleaned :D

Bottom line is I love what I drive ;)
