Wow, that does sound like a good deal. Some of the older ones are going for way more than that. Just make sure you check it over to make sure there is no major things wrong with it. And about that clutch, i'm not sure just check if he was riding it all the time, like being hard on it...Well anyways, Good luck

he does not drive it hard, once in awhle he does but not really. A couple of things I noticed were the shift *** feels really loose, it shifts fine but just feels loose... and the hatch (back) rattles over bumps, I think these might be easy to fix...any ideas? Do you think the car will last a lot over 128K miles? What is the average life of a 300ZX TT motor?

Driving it hard is one thing but did he properly care for the turbos? These cars are reliable if they were properly cared for, and who really knows that but the owner and God. 128k is not too bad but is high for turbos. If the turbos have never been replaced I would set aside about 3-5k for that job in the future otherwise you could be out of a car for a while saving for this. The sloppy shifting sound like the shifter bushing is gone, no big deal about a $3 part from courtesy-nissan.com and is pretty easy to replace yourself also.

The turbos feel fine, I hear the spool up fast and seem to boost well...he was also good about letting them cool before shutting the car off. A "Z" expert Graig Dupre (sp?) in LA looked at the car a few months ago and said everything looked good, turbos seemed fine, a little oil but not too bad...
As for the stick shift, I also notice that sometime when putting in first gear from a stop there is a grinding sound...and that only happend when putting into first gear...any ideas?
