automatic transmission problem

Ive got a 93 300zx with an automatic and ive been having some problems with my transmission. The transmission shifts fine 90% of the time, but every once in a while it will start out in third from a dead stop. And if I drop it down into first it will start off in 2nd.... I have another tranny to put in it but it seems that if it were something wrong with the transmission itself it would be more consistent. :102:

When was the last time the trans fluid was changed? Also sounds like your solenoid pack is going out or your wiring harness is shorting out. FSM has a guide for auto trans diagnostics.

If it didn't do this before the service, then take the car back to the shop with the receipt and ask them to look at it to make sure they didn't do something on there end.

If you don't mind me asking, did you prefer an automatic over manual? The reason I ask is because I'm on the verge of buying either a 2+2 NA 5sp or a TT automatic.

If you have the ability to change it, why not get the car you want most in the first place? If you have never owned a TT z32 and have some mechanical ability to keep it up, you won't be disappointed.

Think of it this way, TT for single bachelor life, or weekend racer. 2+2 for daily life, cruiser and kids.
