1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo Timing Belt

Hello ZDriver,

I forgot to mention that I bought a 1990 Twin turbo =) its very nice and runs smooth, but i came upon a problem. The timing belt makes a squeaking noise. Before it was just on cold starts, but now it seems like it also does it when i reverse. I was working with my mechanic on it last night and it was a lot of work just getting under it. We put new belts, but it still seems to squeal. Any advice PLEASE!!! Thank you Zdriver.

i hope this timing belt came with new bearings and tensioner pulley..if you did just the belt then its cool, you dont really need to do the pulley's and bearings untill 120k miles, but if it is a bearing squeeling then you will need to open that shit up and do it again. and make sure its coming from the timing belt, the squeel is a cetain frequency, it could be an AC clutch making noise, or you might need new accessory belts.

oh snap! crap. i hope its just the belts. i would need to go through hell and back just to do all that haha. the engine came with 140k miles and the seller told me the belts weren't that old. but what he was doing was spraying it with the squeal away spray. my mechanic said the belts had to of had some oil/liquid under it which is why it caused the squealing. it wouldnt grab on the pulleys until it got warm. hope it comes out well in the end. thanks for the advice.
