1990 300zx engine diagosis
Hey guys, Im new to the site and new to owning a fairlady and have run into a massive issue, I have not had time to search in any depth what so ever on the forums Im a full time college student and have been trying to get the car figured out.
It is a 1990 N/a manual 2+0 with 201xxx miles on it.
I replaced the spark plugs last week and the car ran for about two miles. as soon as I got on the gas it bogged down like it couldnt breath. I took it home and shut it off. checked everything and then I wouldnt start again I then replaced the coolant temp sensor and ALL coil packs. yet the car wouldnt start. it wasnt until i replaced the intakes then it started. barely. now about a week later its burning oil and if I start it i have to keep my foot on the gas other wise it bogs down and dies the oil pressure is pretty high at idle much higher than it was. 60+ on the gauge and the engine shakes like mad. there are no knocks or ticks that we can hear nor is it misfiring. its running very rich and I'm trying to figure out a course of action. Ideally I want to do a twin turbo swap. i have a friend whos going to sell me a full front clip for 26 but I dont exactly have the time or tools to do it let alone the space. is this engine at risk of dying as is? at 2pm tmrw I need to drive about 250 miles is it going to make it? What simple tests can I do briefly before I leave to check this?
I realize these are vague questions and it would help to have check other things but Im in a time constraint at the moment. If you happen to live in or near kent ohio please message me if you might wish to assist me.
Thank you All
