!@#$% Power Steering Belt!

What the hell is up with the power steering belt? I cant get it off, I even loosened the resovoir and the hicas crap off of the fender and I still cant pull it down far enough to get the belt off! Any tips or tricks? If not its going to the shop this week and thats embarassing.

Did you loosen the main bolt next to the adjusting bolt?
That should allow you to actually move the ps pump that would allow you to remove the belt.

You mean the one the diagram points to that lets the adjusting bracket slide. I loosened that one. Its really weird, like something is pulling back on it. I even loosened the ps resovoir and hicas crap because I thought one of the hoses wasnt long enough to let the pump drop.

When I first loosened it up it came down like 1/4 inch, if i uses a pry bar it will come down almost loose enough to get it off, but I have to keep hanging on the pry bar so there is no room to pry and pull the belt off. As soon as i let go of the pry bar it goes back up like something is pulling back. I backed the adjustin bolt and the nut as loose as they go. Sucks ***.

Well, if you're having this much trouble, then why not temporarily remove the pump? That should cure your problem.
