worn front shocks
how hard is it replacing the front shocks? is the procedure the same as most other cars or is there anything i need to know about replacing front shocks? the front shocks on my z have 157k original miles. i purchased oem shocks. i don't plan on lowering the vehicle. it rides on stock springs which are still in good condition.

It's relatively easy...... easier on the front than the back. buy or rent a spring compressor. check tt.net or ttzd.com for detailed write-ups.

would the adjustable suspension on 300zx's work with any shocks or oem only? for the future i plan on getting aftermarket shocks w/ new oem springs. don't want to go any lower than stock.

No, only OEM. Aftermarket shocks will work with OEM springs. It is recommended that you change them all at once. New shocks will wear faster with old/worn springs.
IMO, the Eibach springs are very nice on this car. It only lowers the car .8"; which, if your current springs are original, they're probably sagging that far already, so there would not be much differece. It feels more aggressive, but not harsh, at all. It's probably less expensive too. I have them...I highly recommend them. |
