What's Z32 Wheel Offset

Of course, one of my first projects will be to upgrade the rims on my neused Z32TT. What's the factory wheel offset F/R? I plan to gp +1 only. Also, for those who are currently using spacers (hopefully quality ones), any issues at all?

i cant think of a single Z32 owner using spacers. i know they have deep wells, lots of clearance, but i cant think of the stock offset. also, i know volk doing as much bussiness with nissan owners that it does, they will usually help you pick the right rims, so will many quality wheel companies. i say go with 17 inch rims and a staggard setup. do a search for rims in the Z32 section also cause we have had many many MANY rim threads similare if not exactly matching this one, you'll get alotta good info.

You'd be surprised at how little info there is about the spec Z32 wheel offset. I started with the general info sticky, then the service manuals, then a search on Z32 wheel offset. None of these gave me the as-built offset. There were things about +ve and -ve offsets, but no hard numbers on the as-built offset. Maybe I used the wrong search key words, but I got tired of searching. Anyway, I did find some numbers at another TT forum, but without confirmation, you get what you get. The info should be in the owners manual - don't have one yet!! I also have the feeling that since the offset for so many 17-20 inch aftermarket rims are in the mid thirties, it's important but not that critical to nail the OEM offset.

I don't like the tucked in OEM look. Like all of us, I'd like to come out flush with the fenders without sticking out - that's how I did my Z31 and the look is very OEMish without looking like a ricey rabbit on steroids!!! It'll take just the right offset to do this and Volk (as suggested by Snw) may be helpful.

Thanks. Those widths feel awesome. Can't find you in the galleries. Can you post pics or send me a link to pics of your ride? Thanks.

I did and I gotta say the rims look very nice. Do these widths stick out at all or just flush with the sides of the fender? Did you ever get to drop the car yet? There were comments about the rear riding somewhat high. I really couldn't tell from the pics, but are they really that bad? I would like to go 17s but with the deep width, probably like what you have but with a different set of rims. I like the Monet Gothics but I don't believe those come in 17s though. I'll keep looking. Thanks for the input.

the offset depends on the wheel. but for the z, i think most wheels with some dish have offsets in the 30s

I know that. What I want to know is the spec offset for the factory rims. That'll be a starting point.

I don't have the cash to do a drop yet. It only needs about an inch or so in the back, and the wheels are flush.

I found the answer:

F: 16 x 7.5; ET 45
R: 16 x 8.5; ET 35

So, how would a 17x8, ET35 fit in the front? Tucked in or flush to the front fenders or somewhere in between. I have to do the math.

probably the same offset its only half an inch. or a + 40 and that way you save 5mm

I have 9x19 et30 and 10x19 et45 with medium caliper-clearens in front and std. at the back on my zx. The wheels are Gram Light's. I think that fits perfect on the car. If you take å look at my pictures you can see how it looks. It is one of the last galleries.

mons, you're a stalker, low rider kind of Z'er!!!!. You have only one post (the respone to my post!!!!!!!!) and you know a ton about what's going on. I'd really like to see your pics but the only reference I have is your response to my post. Can you guide me some more? I like your set-up, but is the car lowered? 19s seem tall for the Z32, but I really would like to see your pics. Please guide me. Thanks.

imo 19s are too big. mons, your car has a bit of the 4x4 thing going on. not my thing. not to mention, 19s add a lot of unsprung weight.

For me, unlowered, the most I'll go will be 17s. I care more about width than diameter. I'd say 17x9 front, 17x10 rear will be fine, even with 35mm offset. Frankly, as I was looking at the car today, the OEM 16s in the rear look fine. A bit more width would make them look awesome. The front 16s definitely need some width.

Well... it's good that we all have different meenings. If not all the cars would look the same. I can mention that i allso have a set of advan wheels 17x9 and 18x91/2" they fit nice on the car but i think the 17" in the front are to small.

Yep, slow traffic. No, I havn't purchased rims yet. Infact, I haven't found anything I really like yet that I can afford. I got some HIDs for the car and some new tires, so I may ride until these rubbers fade. Hopefully I'd have saved some money or a set of nice rims. What Advan set do you have? Any pics?
