Rear Tire Wear

Damn burnt 2 really Xpensive tires off the back. Is there an adjustment on the rears tires for the Z and not just a front wheel alignment? The alignment was done right before I bought the car so I assumed all was ok but both my rears are bald on the inner sides so I have just discovered, no wonder I hydroplaned the other day in the rain!

Adjust your camber, check the main page, there is a write up on it.

Re: Rear Tire Wear

Thanks, I read through what they have here and it is not technical enough. I called Nissan and there is no Camber adjustment on the Z's according to their service people.

Why does the car suddenly have a problem like this while there is no adjustment without adding an aftermarket kit.

My initial guess is in suspension becoming softer with wear and the car is sitting lower causing more pressure on the inner sides of the rubber.

HELP! I don't want to pay a $1000CAD for the aftermarket parts if really what I need to do is replace some suspension or maybe the balljoints.

Anyone else had this problem and care to fill me in?

Thanks

..Dan

BTW I urge all of you guys to periodically check your rear tires for uneven wear as this occurred without a clue to me. Only in the rain did I noticed the handling problem due to running half slicks on the back.
