my Z needs a new paint job, and ive been deciding over a jet black or very deep red. right now, its aztec red (factory color) im not sure what looks better, but a red brings the lines out better than black, then i also want to consider the rims that im going to get. whatcha guys think ?

jet black or a deeper red

Rims that i want -> SSR Professors/Super.Black.Coat

If you change colors then you would have to get the engine bay and door jams done as well. Black does look good though. If I changed colors on my car that's what I would go with but I don't want to pay that much right now.

Engine bay is not nessecary, only the door and trunk jams.

i think its worth it
you pay for what you get.

but you would also have to find a body shop that is able to spray something like that

i think im going to go with the jet black. ive seen a lot of Zs that are black with the jspec fasica, and man, it looks quite aggressive. tho my next question is, is some paint places unable to do door/trunk jams ? b/c i want that done as well as the engine bay and under the hood.

To paint then engine bay requires removal of the engine. My philosophy is it's unneeded unless you are doing some work to the engine while it is out. And yes, most shops do paint the jams just more expensive.

Heh, not a fan of red, but a fan of yellow? So in your sig, I already know which one applies to you.

J/k man, I'm just getting defensive because my car is red.

While most people won't see it, it kinda looks half-assed done if your engine bay is a different color than your car. But you could always get that done at a later time when doing engine work as you stated.

Do the job once and do it right...that and you wont be afraid of being laughted at when you pop the hood.

Why doesnt people run whites cars anymore...red looks good though. Preferably NISMO red or the 350z red.

yea, I like yellow, blue, white, orange, black, green, purple, teal, grey, anything but red. For some reason I just dont like red on any cars, it has a sort of stock appeal to it to me, I figure if i'm gonna get my car painted it has to be a non-stock unique looking color to me. I know that if I were to paint my car red, and someone were to see it, they probably wouldnt be able to tell that it was a nice aftermarket job regardless of what shade of color it was. But then again, thats just what my take on it is.

I hear it, I don't get it, its like no one does anymore. Thats why my color scheme for this car is white, with black, simply just that.
