wheel spacer question
I want to get wheel spacers for my car. I have stock wheels and tires. Im just trying to figure out what size would get my wheels flush with my body line.

Well... you could always go to your local Home Depot and buy a tape measure if you don't have one. :D
FYI... just slapping on some wheel spacers is dangerous. Like this: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jv4m41viy4I" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> EDIT... actually I think it was the combo of blue emo shorts and red racing shoes that made the wheels fall off. :D |
I didnt wanna just ise a tape measure, doesnt seem like it would be the most accurate. But i know not to just slap them on. Im going to get extended studs and new lug nuts. Guess i can always send them back if im wrong anyway

Not only might you have to extend your studs but you absolutely have to have wheelcentric spacers. Wheels have bores in the back that fit nice and snug on the hubs so the wheels are properly centered. This helps reduce vibration and eventual murder of the driver.

As for measuring the wheel spacer width you want, just put a straight edge vertically across your tire and mark off where you'd like the tire to be relative to the fender. Then use your trusty measuring tape!
To be more accurate though you can measure from the 1 inch mark rather than the hook, it can be off by a 16th or more if you've dropped it enough. |
That video's nuts by the way!
