If you're looking for a N/A, then just buy a 2+2 and save yourself a headache. If you try and convert a coupe to a 4 seater, there isn't nearly enough room back there, unless the people that will ride in the back won't have legs. The rear strut towers, along with the whole rear suspension assembly will get in the way. There will be no head room either. If you want a Turbo, then it would still be easier to buy a 2+2 and do a swap with a TT motor. Our member NISMO LMR is talking about doing something like this. That would be your better option.

One seat in the middle would work better, but you'd have to cut into the body of the car between the strut towers. This would reduce the structural rigidity of the car in the rear. You'd have to reinforce this area. I really don't know how big of a seat you'd be able to install. There's still not much room. Probably only big enough for a small child, or a midget. The 2+2 is only about 4-6 inches longer than the 2 seater.

you crack me up 91... anyway it's not worth trying. either get a 2+2 or a coupe turbo. if someone needs a ride in my car (more than 1 person) i make the other person lay in my trunk...around the sub

2+2 is 8.5 inches longer.

Constucting a "back seat" in a coupe is an extremely bad idea. Not highly recommended. But then again, it's your car. If you'd like to destroy it, by all means, go ahead. Just be sure to tell us about it so we can say we told you so afterwards.

Actually, you can't cut into the back. If you were to cut right behind the seats, on the arbor thing (what's that called?), there's ABS and your fuel tank there. If you were to cut between the struts, there's hicas and your axel there.

The ABS is located directly behind the passenger seat. The fuel tank is located above the rear axles and the HICAS assembly. Needless to say, there is not much wasted space in this car. If you're looking to build a child sized seat, there may be enough room, but his/her legs would probably end up kicking you in the elbow when you drive. That's why they give you an extra 8.5" (thanks Rizz) in the 2+2. It would be a tremedous amount of work, and you would never be able to get the structural rigidity back to factory specs. I'm going to stick with my original belief; which is to buy a 2+2 if you're looking for something with backseats.

This question has been asked before (not sure is has here) but they always get the same answer. Buy a 2+2, do a TT conversion or buy a four door car. The Z is a sports car, sports cars generally come in 2 and 2+2 designs.

Yeah,..and friends don't let friends drive Supra's, so don't even think about getting one of those just because it has a back seat.

IT's not any bigger at all. And a 2+2 can be had for pretty cheap if you look around for a while.

To summarize all responses:
1. buy a 2+2 if you want a backseat
2. don't mutilate a coupe
3. yes, it was a very stupid question.
