modified doors
 

Has anybody seen or know where to get the door kits for the 300zx (90-92) that allows it to open up vertically like the lamborghini? I have been looking for such a kit and can't seem to find any. Is there another way of doing this? All responses are appreciated. thanks!

well...I think there isn't anybody who makes door kits for the 300zx or any car...If you want to modify your Z doors, you should find someone that knows how to do that and maybe you can make your rear fenders wider too...that's one of the things a 300ZX need to have, it looks MUCH better, muscled,exotic and modern...I wonder why I don't see show car Z's with wide rear fenders in the US...even the supras that originally have muscled fenders, have wide body kids too...I hope someday I can have my Z like a strosek design, but here in Peru (South America) is a little difficult to do that...

I've seen the ads on Ebay on how to do it and I am sure it is a few links or company addresses on where to get the hinges or where to take it to have it done, very unlikely that they are selling plans on how to actually do it.

I like how they have in their ad that you can do it for less than the cost of a set of rims.. LOL rims can cost a fortune!!

I did some looking, didn't write down the Sites or companies since they were all in the US and that wouldn't work for me. Anyway go to any search engine and look for Lamborghini or scissor door conversion and you get some links. Most of which will be for where to buy hinges, the rest is up to you. Lamborghini is supposed to be the best place to buy them but the problem is I guess getting them to sell them to you.

There was one place, again I didn't make note of the name that claimed to do it professionally for around $1600, others that had prefabbed kits but Honda stuff only!!

Good luck I think it would look so cool on the Z.

The only place that I know of that sells the lamborghini style door kits is www.decah.net. They say you can do it yourself and it is a complete bolt on. The company is not up and running yet but I did email them asking if the 300zx was on their list for the conversion kit and they emailed me back saying it was and cost about $1,500.00. That is a little to much for me so I am going to try and make one and do it myself. Besides, it doesn't look that hard.
