How do I get my fog lights and park lights on together???
The fog lights on the Z32 only come on when the low beams are on. Does anybody know a way to get the fog lights on when just the park lights are on.
I know a lot of folks who run fog lights and park lights around dusk. My wife drives an old BMW that has this capability from the factory.
Thankz

Thanks! There are two versions of this mod, one safe and one not!!
Thanks for the reference to Twinturbo.net! There are actually two mods for rewiring fog lights on the site.
The most common is by jumping a contact on the fog light switch to the left of the steering wheel. This mod allows all lights on at the same time, high, low, fogs and also allows the fog lights to be operated independently from the low beams. However, by running all lights at the same time, it overloads the circuit and tends to blow fuses. It also places an extra strain on your alternator to supply the extra power needed.
The other mod is safer and the one I went with. It also allows the fogs to be operated independently. However, you change the power source to the fog light relay. From the factory, the fog light relay gets power from the low beams. This allows the fogs only to be on when the low beams are on. You can cut the wire from the low beams to the relay and connect a wire switched by the ignition switch to the relay. This way, the fogs will come on by using the fog light switch any time the ignition switch is on- with brights or low beams, but not all three at the same time. It also makes sure the lights are off when the ignition is switched off, preventing potentially draining your battery by leaving the lights on.
So, the second mod can save your alternator, a bunch of fuses, and over time, your electrical system. If you need the fogs brighter, there is another mod that removes the glare guard and also you can upgrade the wattage on the H3 bulbs.
