Z31 Engine Mods

Hey Guys,

I have my self a spare engine for my Z31 N/A.. its just sitting there looking at me. so of course, the thought has come to mind that maybe it should be rebuilt with a few added goodies! so i guess my question is, if you guys were building an engine for one of these, what would you but in it? doesnt have to be able to do a 9 second quater mile, tho it would be nice to leave the guys in the 5l V8 at the lights wondering what just happend!

:-)

A vg30 with pure stock internals, properly boosted, will achieve your stated goal.

make sure your supporting cast is up to the task. Your fuel system must be able to supply enough fuel to go with all that extra air. Will your ignition system be able to fire that compressed mixture? An intercooler is a must in that range. With a Nissan, the engine is very rarely what holds you back. What about enrichment control? How will you maintain a good idle but still have enough fuel for the top end? RRFPR or electronics? Those are all things you'll need to consider for a high boost turbo setup.
