Look for a 90s pathfinder engine. It is a drop in swap.

Also the V6 frontiers and Xterras had the VG33. Not the 05+ models though, as these both use the VQ now.

It's not as straight forward of a swap as you would think. Crank in the VG33 is different. I'm working on a putting in a VG33E into my 86na and I'm trying to figure out how to do it and still use my same pulleys. One option is to machine the snout on the VG33 crank to VG30 diameter.

I'm still searching for a solution.

Has anybody tried, or looked into the possibility of putting vg30de heads on a vg33e block? Does any body know about the timing belt tensioner and idler pully config on the 33 vs the 30?

I plan on doing the swap. I plan on using the vg33 block, z32 TT crank & rods (as they are forged) having custom pistons made and using my 86 turbo heads on the block. That will give me all forged internals, 3.3 liters while maintaining the use of all my top end, pulleys & such. Best of all worlds. The Pathfinder engine doesn't fit under our hoods either. You either need to get the plenum machined to be lower or buy one of the cowl hoods for the 84-86 z31s on Ebay for the Pathfinder engine to fit. I like my plan better.
