I put a non turbo in my 84 turbo because I had the engine already,while the turbo gets rebuild.What sort of problens should I expect?

 

I'm assuming you meant the turbo engine is being rebuilt. If you got the harness, the intake, and the exhaust all hooked up I can't think of anything major.

 

The car will start then quit,almost like is not getting any fuel.I changed the mass air then i was able to get it to run then but when I went to start it the next day it is doing the same thing.The only ecu I was able to get for a non turbo automatic was from an 87 maxima,maybe that is where my problems lay.Any ideas?

 

MAS shouldn't be a factor. They're the same whether they come from a turbo or NA. Same goes for fuel pumps. Was there a problem with your z31 ECU? Never heard of anybody using a Maxima ecu so I dunno about that. I'd look for an ecu on ebay and at z31.com.

 

The turbo engine was still running last week when I took it out of the car.I had no ecu problems,but I figured the ecu for the turbo would not work for the n/a,different timing,injecters and such.Am I wrong with this assumption?Would there be enough differences in the turbo wiring harness to cuase problems?

 

If it was me I'd try the turbo ecu in there.
