Supercharged VG33
In my considerations for a swap.. either a low mile VG30ET, or a VG33E.... I thought about it last night, and thought about using the Frontier's Supercharged VG33. I know that's a little crazy, but has anybody really thougth about the outcome? I mean... it's an eaton unit as I understand. so it shouldn't be hard to find pulley's for it. Teflon lined rotors.. I dunno, maybe it's just an insane thought to begin with... I don't think anybody really reads my posts anyway. So, gimme some feedback.

I've been thinking of something like that on my Z32. I am researching /thinking VG33 with DE heads. My own custom upper plenum for s/c, VQ35 t/b & MAF. If I have to cut the hood, it won't be the original one. I don't think the Eaton M90 s/c is all that bad. I've heard of people getting around 12 - 15 psi boost out of them.
I saw somewhere on a Nissan dealer site where you can get a brand new manifold, s/c, t/b set-up complete for $1800. Not that I would, but it's available.

I have plenty of reason to believe it will fit under the hood, there's no reason why it shouldn't, it has the same clearence as the Intake manifold on the Frontier/Xterra/Pathfinder. Even if there's not enough room... a "cowl induction" hood would allow the space needed. If you know Eaton, then you know they're the largest suppliers of OEM supercharges, and even some aftermarket. Therefore, I have have more reason to believe this "blower" could be upgreaded with better rotors, seals, and pulleys. The throttle body trick from the KA's should work as well. I don't think it's really all that bad of an idea. It's saner than an RB swap... but still a little off the wall and will need more investigation and planning. To the VG30DETT, and VQ45DE. That's just not right. I mean... when I first got my Z, I thought about doing a Chevy SB swap... but it's just not right. VG30DETT would have been my first idea if I liked that route. But, I like the SOHC's, Better for torque anyway. Oh, while on the subject... I just got an 85k mile B/G T56 trans... I'm currently looking for another VG30E/T5 bellhousing to make sure she bolts up correctly. (wasn't that big of a deal... I pulled her from a buddy's junk yard, had an old vette that somebody put it in) So... Give me your insight on this well. Much appreciated.

man any thing can be made to fit. just go for it if i can stuf a 383 stroker with a hi rise carb setup in a z31and make it go like a bat out off hell and close the hood. you can do it to. all it takes is friends a welder, cutting tourch and good old green backs.

If you want to be uniqe then go for it.
But it wont clear the hood, the pathfinder intake manifold dosen't clear the hood either.
Stock hp for vg33er is 210hp.
A single turbo will make more hp than that sc ever could, and still save you some $$.
Sure, super chargers dont lag,but they are limited to rpms.
Turbos just keep feeding themselves, alowing for massive hp.

Head bolts,water/oil passages dont line up.Not enough idler pullies on the single cams block.
You'd have better luck boreing the hell out of the de block and installing some crazy strong sleeves.
Just keep it at 3liters and compensate with more boost.
