The turbo models have a "speed limiter" that hold them back to 137mph. The N/A model has no such device. It isn't needed.

"cause i was wondering how fast i would expect to go."
Not very... It should crap out on you at a little over 110mph if everything is perfect, and, the wind is at your back.

i call bs. on the way from san diego to seattle i had my 87na with 165000 miles on it and 400lbs of stuff in the back (actually weighed in the car so the navy knew what to pay me for my move) and on a flat road (not downhill) up to about 130 in the middle of bumf**k california and still had room to go on the tach. i stayed there for about 5 seconds because with all that weight in the back it got pretty squirly, and id been driving non-stop for about 10 hours. but i did about 115 most of the rest of the trip without a problem. car ran great and still does. and yes, my speedo is accurate, i blew past a few of those "YOUR SPEED" things, although thanks to my radar detector, not at 115. thats actually the third time i did that trip, and once in only 15 hours because i had a relief driver with me and we stopped only for gas. so not only is the na z31 capable of speeds over 110, it can stay there for a long time and be fine.

its an auto that could use some fixin'. i wish i had a 5 speed. this is the first auto i have owned and it sucks, but hell, i needed a car and wanted a z. it did take a little while to get to that speed, the needle moves up pretty slow after 100. but i had plenty of straight empty road. and does that say you live in colorado? the altitude could make a difference. shes a pig in the mountains.

I've got my 200,000 miles '86 to 119... but it was on a downhill on a rainy night. A relatively short one though, because I was in an airport and lucky for me - good handling, all stock too.

I've got an 84 NA with 180,000km on the clock, and it hits 200km/h, thats 125mph.
