so i just sold the car today and it has been solid its whole life with me. i sold it to some kids and they text me not 30min later saying it overheated and smoke coming from the hood and dash. He said it was a little low but it started right up smoking a little and gets hot. It is dark so he cant find any leaks. i told the mto wait until morning and check the driveway for leaks and see where it is leaking from because the steam had to come form somewhere. Any Ideas? I feel like an *** because i cant take back a broken car...and we test drove it for a good 20min and everything was fine. Now i feel like crap cuz they think i prolly scammed them. sold it for $1,300.

Unfortunately, buying an "as is" car, is what it is. It could be awesome 30 years, and the moment it drives away, it falls apart. If you disclosed everything with the car to them before they bought it, that is all you can do. You can offer to give them advice, or even help them fix something, if it will make you feel better. You also don't know what they did with it as soon as they got it, for all you know, they could have red-lined it doing burnouts for the half an hour straight that they had it.

True, and i will help them out as much as i can. They are young like 16-20. The car had no tag (Florida law must surrender tag without insurance) I'm moving due to the military. So i had to have them come to my townhouse where i have a new camaro SS and another nice 86 z31. I just dont want them sneaking sugar in my gas take or smashing my crap. Full coverage will cover vandalism but not the engine seizing up due to no oil or sugar (i dont think, never had anyone do that) They seem cool so far just if it does south...i know how kids can be.
